ClubsNSW hosted a virtual awards ceremony featuring celebrity chefs Colin Fassnidge and Manu Feildel on Wednesday 15th Feb to crown the winners of the ClubsNSW Perfect Plate competition.
The Carbonara Tartufata dish created in collaboration between executive chef Mauri Villella and up and coming chef Shavanah Skilton wowed the customers and was voted best dish in Illawarra Shoalhaven region and best medium size club dish in NSW.
Manu Fieldel was amazed with the dish and the delicate balance of truffle and pancetta. The Fraternity Club also entered the Da Vinci Pizza from Il Bene Pizzeria which Manu rated 10/10 for the pizza dough.
General manager Greg Field was proud of his team efforts in showcasing the wonderful food available at the club “The Frat has worked extremely hard to be able to provide quality food offerings to its members and guests. This award is a recognition of many years hard work that has made the Fraternity Club an outstanding food destination.
This competition was great to be involved with, ClubsNSW did a tremendous job in bringing Manu to the region. Thank you to everyone who has voted, I guess the Carbonara Tartufata will have to be here to stay”
More than 50,000 Perfect Plate competition dishes were purchased with celebrity chefs Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge saying they were blown away by the quality of club cuisine.
Feildel visited The Frat and said he was immediately impressed.
“I’ll admit, before travelling around the state to sample Perfect Plate dishes, I hadn’t spent very much time in clubs, but the calibre of food is incredible,” he said.
“It just goes to show that you don’t need to go to a fine dining restaurant to experience fantastic food – it’s right there at your local club.”
The Fraternity Club is encouraging its members to get vaccinated so that they can open their doors and they can enjoy the new award winning dish.
